As the leaves start to fall and the sun starts to set before 8:30 (UGH), we realize Fall is on the way. I am terribly sad to see Summer go but there is one AMAZING thing that Fall has to offer…. Fall shopping!! I am always in search of a new jacket, perfect for “Raincover” come late September, a great pair of boots and a new bag! I have taken a look at the top trends for bags this fall and put together a little forecast for all you stylish babes!

The clutch is coming back hotter than ever. From large to small you will be seeing clutches EVERYWHERE. A clutch is perfect for date night or that important dinner event you have been dreading for the last couple weeks. With a little help from your new favorite heels, a clutch can transform an outfit from day to night, easily! I am in love with Kate Spade and her clutches, the Madison Wagner Way Vita in Cherry Wood, has just the right amount of embellishment giving it an elegant vibe. If you are looking for something more plain and basic, the Oak and Fort Black Clutch is a great affordable option!

Similar to a clutch, another hot trend this fall are Micro Bags. Yes, these are mini but can add that perfect amount of flare to an outfit if needed. These small bags are easy to throw across your body or shoulder and fit only what you need. Meaning, you might not be able to bring those 4 lipsticks you always have by your side. The Juliette Mini Top-Handle Satchel from Tory Burch is a great piece that will class up any outfit. The royal navy blue is perfect for fall and transition’s nicely into winter. If you are really needing to spice up your outfit, try a mini sequined cross body bag from Zara!

Fashion and Function are normally two words that do not go together, but when it comes to a bag I need it to do the job right. If you read my post about what is in my purse, you know that I do NOT pack light. Most days I am practically living out of my purse, so if it doesn’t fit everything I need, I end up at a photo shoot with either no snacks or no hairspray. Which never turns out well. Lucky for me, Oversized bags are another huge trend of Fall 2017! My dream would be the timeless Chanel large shopping bag, a classic bag that would fit everything I needed and never get old. Last but not least, a trend that we are seeing everywhere, VINTAGE! I am always in search of those timeless pieces. The type of piece everyone always asks about but can never get. Sure you can go spend a fortune at Balenciaga for a vintage inspired piece, but for me the joy behind vintage is finding it yourself. Picking through heaps of clothing and accessories and then finally landing your eyes on something so beautiful you wonder why someone ever gave it up. That’s the magic behind vintage. If you haven’t been to Community Thrift and Vintage in Gastown, it’s the kind of place that you’ll end up finding that unique piece that will get everyone’s attention. Founded in 2011, Community Thrift & Vintage quickly established itself as the go-to spot for fashion focussed vintage. With a winning mix of super affordable pieces and lust-worthy pristine relics from bygone eras, they expanded into two shops later that year. To most they just seem like a cool place to shop in Gastown, but they have a secret: all their profits are directed to a non-profit organization that services marginalized people in the DTES.
