If you read my blog… or follow me on Instagram…or hear me on air… you probably know I LOVE staycations. I think it’s important to carve out time with your special someone, especially if your home base is also a home-office.

Gary and I decided to stay at the most romantic hotel we could think of – the Opus! We checked into their signature suite, which is gorgeous and the decor was so fitting for Valentine’s day.

We headed to The Opus as soon as we were both done work and started getting ready in the room for a date night out on the town. I love this RW + CO dress – it’s so versatile taking me from work to a night out. I love the floral print and the flutter sleeve. It’s a romantic and sweet dress that is perfect for love day! I like to add a belt to pull in my waist and accessorize with a blush pink necklace like this to bring out the print in the dress.

We love spending quality time together when we can focus on JUST each other, rather than all of the stressors that have gone into our new house, getting errands done or doing work around the house.

For those of you who don’t know Opus, it’s a boutique hotel right in the heart of Yaletown. I lived in Yaletown for years, so it’s nice to be back in my old neighbourhood even though I still stay at my condo once a week or so. We always opt to walk to our date-spot because we like to get some fresh-air.  I’m OBSESSED with this blush pink trench coat – it’s perfect for Valentine’s day.

Opus really adds a special touch with personalized details. Not to mention every room comes with an ipad and brand new dyson hairdryer!!! I think I officially need to invest in a dyson hairdryer.  Also cool that they offer bikes for you to ride the seawall, great on sunny days in the city…
