Okay guys and gals, Valentine’s day is RIGHT around the corner. I know that you’ve all had a busy 2018 and that maybe planning for V day hasn’t been your top priority. It’s okay, I’ve got you covered with tips and tricks for planning a romantic night for your SO.

If you’re staying in I recommend setting up your space so that it is stylish yet cozy and comfortable. To start, I love this couch from Article that is the Triplo Milkyway Ivory sofa that has a slim and elegant profile and the cushions are down-filled so that you can really get comfy.

I like to add some decor elements with accessories from Mobilia like these pillows and throw for added textures and to set the mood. For guys out there, I know every woman loves a romantic touch and these rose petals are simple and you can pick them up at the dollar store believe it or not.

A nice way to set the scene is with some Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial. This is perfect for the sophisticated and elegant woman with notes of red fruits, floral nuances, peach and a hint of pepper. It’s a beautiful pink colour and perfect to dress up your dinner or nice with some brunch. Speaking of brunch, I brought in my friends from White Table Catering who recommend serving a waffle cake topped with mascarpone cream, fresh berries and a drizzled berry compote which can also be a nice dessert.

We used the Breville Smart Waffle 2-slice, the no mess, no waste, no hassle kinda waffle!! It’s fantastic for customizing your waffle from light to dark and actually has 12 browning settings to be exact… oh and rest assured any overflow will get caught and cooked in the wrap around moat. Meaning no mess. Both of Breville’s 2 Slice and 4 Slice Square Waffles are available at retailers across Canada.

Cupcakes are always nice to have for a Valentine’s treat and double as a decor element as well. You can also make a vegan one for a healthier options.

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without some chocolate of course. Here are some great options from Purdy’s like this mosaic heart tin, a gourmet box and some cheeky Valentine’s boxes that are pretty much perfect for your girlfriends. You can always customize what you want or for whomever you are buying for.

In case you didn’t know, Purdy’s use ONLY 100% sustainable cocoa! Seriously! Check out their Sustainable Cocoa Program.

Oh and Purdy’s also offer Chocolate Classes!!! You can learn how to make your own truffles or chocolate bark which makes for a great date night with your partner, girlfriends or whoever you like. You can find more details at purdys.com.

I’ve also made some decor items using mason jars which also make a nice centrepiece or a great gift. They are so easy to make that you could try making these with your significant other after dinner. It’s a fun and cute date night idea. You can hold some straws or flowers in them like I’ve done here.

And if you’d like to dress for the occasion I’ve sourced a few his and hers outfits from RW + CO including the one I’m wearing. These pieces are versatile and can be worn for a date night with your special Valentine or to your BFF’s movie/wine night for galantine’s day. RW&CO. carries items that are polished, yet cool. Gary and I are wearing these outfits in a recent post that’s up on our site so that you can see how we styled them. You can find more details on these pieces at their website here.

Hope you and your SO have an incredible day.
