Signed Fraiche Food, Full Hearts Cookbook

Now that you have all new dinnerware you’ll want to fill those plates with some ‘FRAICHE FOOD.’ A labour of love, created by cousins and both friends of mine, Tori Wesszer and Jillian Harris. Tori shares, “if there is one thing my grandma taught me, it’s food is love. Our cookbook is filled to the brim with family favourite recipes and stories that have warmed my heart over the years, and it means the world to me that our labour of love is now in so many kitchens.  I hope it helps bring some comfort in the kitchen during this unpredictable time and allows people the chance to sit down and enjoy a nice meal with those they love.

Daily Palette

There will be days you just don’t feel like cooking, and I think I can say for all of us during this pandemic that a break from dishes is what we ALL need and a little luxury these days. So this is exactly why we partnered with Daily Palette to give you a relief in the kitchen with one of their delicious and stunning grazing palettes, or more frequently called charcuterie platter. Vancouver’s first and finest grazing company offers both vegetarian and vegan options. Their new holiday FESTIVE COLLECTION features different size options which are perfect for any occasion. Evolve 2018 Sauvignon Blanc

What’s a tablescape without some wine???! Evolve Cellars is my go-to for any quick gift or dinner party (oh, how I miss entertaining). Not to mention a glass in the kitchen while you’re cooking is an especially great way to spend your evening. The Evolve 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is filled with tropical fruits of lime and nectarine. Bright, lively citrus and summer fruit flavours of melon, nectarine and pear. Pairs well with your charcuterie board from Daily Palette!!

I am drooling over those place settings! Gorgeous. Since March, I have increased the amount of scratch cooking that I have been doing. I will admit I am using some of the recipe boxes to stay sane, but also to learn new cooking techniques. I know now that I have been cooking my meats at too low a temperature and also that roasted veggies are dead easy to make and taste delicious. I even make my salsa – and ketchup from scratch now. We don’t call for pizza either. Learning from chefs is always awesome – and my husband and I were lucky enough to meet Chef Matt Basile at an event a few years ago. He is a brilliant cook and so personable. And my Dad’s favourite childhood dish was Johnny Cake! I need to sign up for that class. Thanks for the heads up!

I love Tori! Her recipes and advice on her blog are spot on! And a virtual brunch with place settings!! Sounds like a prefect day – which admittedly have been far and few between since March.
