How do you celebrate the start of a new year? With laughs, cocktails and endless discussions about goals with the girls. When you surround yourself with hardworking and inspiring women, it’s fun to feed off of each other’s positive and ambition-fuelled energy.

The girls and I got together for a much needed post-holiday catch-up. We sipped on some fabulous cocktails. My favourite is called “What the Flower” HOW CUTE is that name, and it has electric daisies in it. We also tried “Poetry in Motion” and “B&T Botane and Tonic” which has about a foot of rosemary in it. We also snacked on some fresh oysters and tuna poke while enjoying the Botanist Lounge Cocktail Experience, each other’s company and the bartenders were pretty easy to look at too (plus, they make a mean cocktail).

The great part about the Fairmont Pacific Rim being downtown is that the girls could easily join me for a couple drinks and cab home after…. These girls are not only my dear friends, but are also integral parts of my team and I could not build my business without them. No matter how hard we try not to talk biz, we’re all so excited about the projects we’re working on together – we just couldn’t help ourselves. Not only is the Botanist Lounge a good place for a girls date, it’s apparently also a great place for a business meeting ;).

The Pacific Rim is a great spot for a girl’s night out because once you’re done with drinks upstairs, you can head downstairs for more live music, dancing and fun. We couldn’t believe how incredible the live band was. They were playing hit after hit, seriously we had to try our best not to sing our hearts out right in the bar.
After a delicious dinner, we unanimously decided that The Botanist also has the best service we’ve had in years. Plus, their house made bread is to-die-for.

One of my resolutions this year is to make sure I make more time for friends. Once you find people in your life who support you, share similar values, make you laugh so hard you cry and cry until you laugh again – hang on tight. The girls and I have agreed to a monthly Botanist date. Thank goodness I found the perfect spot to share with the perfect company (when we’re not binging The Bachelor, that is).
