I got together with an amazing group of beautiful bloggers and influencers for a little road trip. We drove out to Squamish to test our new Noize Original jackets in the cold, and kick off the winter season with some snowy activities. Noize Original is a Canadian based, cruelty free outerwear brand that has always valued the importance of preserving the planet we live on. As a PETA approved brand, NOIZE offers a wide selection of made-to-last jackets that have been thoughtfully designed to keep you warm all winter long . Thank goodness our jackets were warm and cozy because as soon as we stepped foot outside the car, we realized it was FREEZING.
First, we stopped at Grouse to play in the snow and take in some of their light displays which are absolutely beautiful. There’s something so magical about the reflection of twinkle lights on the snow. I really want to go back with to do some skating or snowshoeing, anyone want to join?
Next, we headed up to the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, which has a spectacular view of the city. Too bad the view was blinded by the fog, but we are definitely going to plan a trip back up on a clearer day. That’s Vancouver for you though. I wore my favourite jacket, the Brooklyn long coat in red. I cannot believe how much warmth it provided. With red noses and numb fingers, it was hard to believe how warm I was. PLUS, this jacket is seriously cute and I love the red colour to brighten up a white winter.
We had such a fun time on the suspension bridge and walking through the Forest Christmas Trail (instagram worthy, so don’t forget your camera). It really puts you in the spirit of the holiday and a great afternoon to spend with your girls, outside, in nature AND having fun… For the more physical activities I wore the Phoebe jacket, which has the coziest rib knit storm cuff and collar. It’s warm, easy to move around in and has a great big soft furry (vegan fur, of course) jacket.
We warmed up inside with some delicious food from their menu. Some of the girls stayed inside while Jenn, Arinn and I ventured out on the Headlamp Hike. It was liberating to shut off our phones and experience what mother nature had to offer. One of the best moments, was standing on top of the mountain, looking out to see the city and the water and breath in the fresh air and just have a moment of silence. It was truly magical. I absolutely recommend the headlamp hike for anyone who has a chance to do it.
We headed back down, checked into the Executive Suites Resort, a great hotel in the Squamish area to stay or stop in to break up your trip up to Whistler, and we were off again to have dinner at Howe Sound Inn & Brewing Company. They gave us an informative tour of the brewery before we chowed down. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal. They even brought us not one, not two but three giant cookies with chocolate sauce and ice cream. We were in heaven. We had an early night after a long day of adventures, and there’s something about the fresh air that really takes a lot out of you. Needless to say we were all exhausted and it was so nice to run a hot bath and and get a good night sleep in their beautiful king sized bed!
I feel so grateful to live in a city surrounded by so much adventure. Squamish is one of my favourite getaways, and I felt so lucky to get out of the city with such great company. And if our jackets weren’t comfortable and chic enough already, we all felt great dressed in clothes we know cause no harm to the beautiful environment and amazing animals that live in it.
Where’s your favourite day trip spot?
