BC’s Top Five Camping Hideaway’s

As you know, I’m all about exploring our beautiful BC backyard, and what better way to do it then camp (with a little help setting up the tent from Gary)! I want to share my top five favourite camping spots, and hope to inspire some of you to get your hands dirty. From evening marshmallow roasting to morning sun-rise watching, spending time outdoors is a great way to hit refresh on the life of a busy girl like me!

Tofino

If you know me, you know that Tofino is one of my favorite places on earth. Tofino is known for their beautiful campsites right on the ocean. What’s more relaxing than waking up to the sun rising and the sound of waves?! Every morning I leave my tent, yoga mat in hand and join a yoga class on the beach. If that doesn’t sound like heaven, I don’t know what does. Oh and don’t forget your sunscreen, summers in Tofino are HOT!

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park

This one is for the ladies that enjoy a good booty burn! The hike to Joffre Lake is under two hours and located just east of Pemberton, BC. On your way up you are constantly reminded of how beautiful our forests are. The lakes are glacier feed making them a gorgeous pale tiffany blue. Once you arrive at the top, the campsites are breathtaking, just as breathtaking as the cold icy lake itself.  The hike up is a bit grueling, but I promise you’ll thank me when you get to the top!

Camp Coyote in Campbell Valley Regional Park, Langley

If you want to keep it local, the Campbell Valley Regional Park is a vibrant lush forest showing off all of nature’s best shades of green. With beautiful walking paths, and great covered cabanas; this is a great classic-camp spot that feels like a nature rich escape. Pack your bug spray – you’re becoming one with nature here!

Rockwater Resort Secret Cove

Don’t get me wrong, I love to toss my sweats on, and help make a fire… but sometimes it’s nice to arrive to a camp-ready spot. This brings us to my newfound camping obsession, GLAMPING. Yes there is such a thing as glamour camping, and it’s amazing! At Rockwater Resort they have big safari like tents set up on wooden platforms that overlook the ocean. The tents are beautiful, and the scenery is even better! From whimsical decor to luxury sleeping arrangements, this place is a dream!

Barefoot Beach Resort, Penticton

This is the perfect place for you and your girlfriends to kick back, relax and drink some wine!! You have the option of staying in the campgrounds or renting a cozy yurt for the days you’re there. The resort is extremely close to Painted Rock and Mission Hill Wineries making this weekend full of bubbles and giggles!

Deas Island Regional Park
Okay I know I said my top five, but you guys always deserve extra; so here’s a sixth.  Muskrat Meadows Campground, is in Deas Island Regional Park on an Island located on the lower regions of the Fraser River.  With bald eagles soaring, and cottonwood trees draped overhead, this is a gorgeous spot to get some peace and quiet, and appreciate some stereotypical BC Beauty!!!

Okay, have I convinced you? Happy adventuring loves!
What are some of your favorite BC camp spots?
