Celebrating the upcoming arrival of our third baby boy was a joyous occasion, and we turned it into an unforgettable “Oh Baby” Sprinkle. Held at the Manhattan Loft and Lounge in Langley, this elegant venue was the perfect setting for our intimate gathering. With a Bohemian theme featuring sage green highlights, gold, cream, and pops of pink, the evening was a beautiful blend of love, laughter, and sophisticated fun. Family and friends came dressed to impress, and together we created lasting memories while reveling in the excitement of welcoming our newest addition. The Venue and Theme
Our celebration took place at the Manhattan Loft and Lounge, Langley’s newest event venue. This elegant space, with its stunning commercial kitchen and modern amenities, is ideal for any event. The Bohemian-themed decor, with sage green highlights, gold, cream, and my favourite pops of pink, created an enchanting atmosphere. Guests embraced the theme, donning outfits with splashes of gold, cream, sage green, and a hint of pink, adding to the event’s swanky vibe.
Exquisite Decor
Shyla from Valley Weddings was the mastermind behind the stunning decor. With her eye for design and extensive experience, Shyla transformed the venue into an elegant boho paradise. She brought my vision to life with intricate details and stylish arrangements that exceeded my expectations. Little Rose Party Company added a whimsical touch with their balloon installations, including a custom “Oh Baby” backdrop and a half-circle balloon installation framing the live performance area. The balloon decor, complemented by florals, made the ambiance truly magical.
Floral Elegance
Niche Boutique Florals, with designer Lina at the helm, created breathtaking floral arrangements that added a soft, feminine touch to the event. Using prestigious blooms like quicksand roses, playa roses, stock, and lisianthus, along with seasonal favorites like tulips, hellebores, and ranunculus, they brought a touch of spring to the sprinkle. Dry elements such as pampas grass, palm leaves, and grasses added a slight boho style, making the decor cohesive and enchanting.
Their boutique, kissed by European inspirations, is a haven where you can immerse yourself in a sea of stunning garden-style florals, handpicked home décor and unique giftware. Twice a year, Maria, the dedicated owner, embarks on a journey to France. She returns with a treasure trove of antiques, each with a story to tell, adding yet another layer of charm to the boutique. If you find yourself in the area, grant yourself the gift of this must-visit experience.
Aromatic Ambiance
The Scented Market infused the space with a warm, cozy vibe through their 16oz Soy Candles in Peaches, Eucalyptus Lavender, and But First, Coffee. These eco-friendly, high-quality candles were placed throughout the venue, and each guest took home a small “Celebrate” candle as a keepsake. The soothing scents created a relaxing ambiance, enhancing the overall experience.
Live Music and Entertainment
One of the evening’s highlights was a live acoustic set by local performer Ryan McAllister. His rendition of favorites like “Harvest Moon” brought an elevated, personal touch to the event. Live music added a special layer of intimacy and joy, making the night even more memorable.
Delicious Delights: Menu Planning for a Scrumptious Baby Sprinkle
No celebration is complete without delectable food and drinks. Guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbly from Haywire Wine, the Pink Bub 2021, perfectly on theme. We were also graced with a delightful array of whites and rosés, featuring the crisp and refreshing 2021 Haywire Switchback Pinot Gris and the vibrant, fruity 2022 Haywire Gamay Rosé. Duchess Cocktails provided a selection of cocktails and mocktails, including Cosmopolitans, Margaritas, and French 75s.
The culinary delights were nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the impeccable service of White Table Catering. The evening began with an array of circulating hors-d’œuvre’s that tantalized our taste buds. Guests were enamored by the Whipped Burrata Cone V, a delicate creation featuring a savory cone adorned with toasted pine nuts, confit tomatoes, and a sprinkle of micro basil. The Chicken & Waffles were a delightful fusion of flavours, with mini cornbread waffles topped with cabbage slaw, crispy fried chicken thighs, and drizzled with a tantalizing fermented chili honey. A crowd favourite, the Poutine Cups, offered a comfort food twist with fresh-fried potato waffles dusted with Old Bay seasoning, smothered in cheese curds and house gravy.
The Manhattan Lofts provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration, with its stunning 16-foot marble table that exudes sophistication and elegance. This magnificent table, ideal for an intimate long-table dining experience, offered both style and comfort for up to 16 of our closest friends and family.
We decided to adorn it with a beautiful grazing table from Indulge Charcuterie, a local gem founded by a young female visionary. The spread was a feast for the eyes and palate, featuring an assortment of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, and nuts. To elevate this experience, we included Dutchman’s Gold honey, with their wildflower and cinnamon varieties adding a touch of sweetness and luxury that perfectly complemented the charcuterie offerings. The combination of delectable food and the warm, inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable celebration filled with love and joy.
Cake and Desserts
Hansel & Gretel crafted a stunning two-tier sprinkle cake with cream cheese filling that matched the custom backdrop, tying the theme together perfectly. The dessert station was a sight straight out of a fairy tale, brimming with scrumptious custom-made cookies from Hansel & Gretel. Our sprinkle party would have been incomplete without Cartem’s Donuts’ sprinkle donuts. We had an abundance of their Vanilla Bean yeast rings, all adorned with gold flakes and vibrant sprinkles. I assure you, these donuts were a revelation, the best I’ve ever tasted. These fluffy delights, doused in an organic ground vanilla bean glaze, were the epitome of old school charm. Made especially for my sprinkle, they were vegan, garnished with gold flakes, and, of course, sprinkles!
Vancouver Desserts didn’t disappoint either, with their luscious chocolate-covered strawberries and cheesecake cups in flavours of strawberry cheesecake and white chocolate raspberry. The pièce de résistance was the majestic macaron tower, crowned with delicate sage macarons, frosted pale pink and adorned with pristine white flowers.. Little B Confectionery added bite-sized salted caramels and London fog flavours, making the dessert table a hit.
Games and Activities
The “Oh Baby” Sprinkle celebration was not just about elegant decor and delicious treats; it also featured engaging games and activities to keep the night lively and entertaining. One of the highlights was the diaper raffle, offering guests the chance to win an enticing grand prize of an overnight stay at the luxurious Wedgewood Hotel by simply bringing a box of diapers to enter. This clever idea not only added an element of fun but also provided a practical gift for the new parents-to-be. The diaper raffle was a hit and a must-have addition to any sprinkle event. Additionally, the guest book with the framed ultrasound photo of the baby allowed guests to leave heartfelt messages, creating a memorable keepsake to cherish for years to come. The various games and activities added an interactive and joyful touch to the celebration, making it a truly unforgettable evening for all attendees.
Thoughtful Favours
Guests left with thoughtful favours, including mini bouquets from Niche Boutique Florals, caramels from Little B Confectionery, honey from Dutchman’s Gold, “Celebrate” Soy Candles from The Scented Market, and personalized thank you cookies from Hansel & Gretel. These keepsakes were a perfect way to thank our loved ones for sharing in the special evening.
The “Oh Baby” Sprinkle was a beautiful, sophisticated celebration filled with love, laughter, and joy. The Manhattan Loft and Lounge provided the perfect setting and the thoughtful details made the event truly special. From stunning decor and florals to delicious food and live music, every element came together seamlessly. It was a night to remember, and I am grateful to everyone who helped make it so magical. Now that our baby has been born, these precious memories of welcoming our third baby boy into the world will be cherished forever.
